Real estate websites provide their viewers many options to search for available properties and homes in their area. Putting together one of these sites is not as difficult as it used to be. With a little know how, you can put together a great site with all the integrations that your visitors will need and appreciate. Even if you do not feel comfortable doing it, there are many website designers out there that can put together an awesome site for you.
WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE
There is an array of website builders out there that can help you put together a real estate website.
The question is, what is the best website builder for real estate? The answer can be as simple as asking just a few more questions:
What are your needs? Your experience level in building websites? Does your MLS offer integrations?
These questions are important and can help you when starting to strategize your site build. There are some Free options available, but most third party options cost money. With WordPress some of the IDX integration plugins also include a fancy, decked out theme which will make it easier for you to put the site together.
KNOW YOUR SITE BUILDERS
There are so many site builders out there. WordPress, Weebly, Squarespace and Joomla are just a few of the popular site builders available. It would be a good idea to do a little research and find out all the different features of each site builder that interests you.
Remember all site builders are different and will react differently to the options your MLS offers. You do not want to be set on a site builder to then find out you cannot integrate IDX to it. It is important that you contact your MLS and see which options they have to integrate into a website. Some MLS companies have iFrame options and some have an actual plugin that you can use.
Although building the actual site with a site builder can be easy, especially with drag and drop site builders, you have to find out how these site builders will work with IDX integration. Most of the time your MLS provider will have certain options and may also provide you with some customer support when integrating the service to your site. Contact your provider and find out which site builder they recommend and how much their service costs.
TEST YOUR SITE
Just as with anything else that has to do with a website build you have to test your site and the IDX integration to see how it works with a desktop and on mobile devices. We always stress this because sometimes the IDX feature will not look the same on mobile and could be cut off, especially if you are using an iFrame option.
We are sure your visitors understand that mobile displays are smaller and can only show so much, so this is why you have to opt for the option that will work best for you and test away on different devices and browsers.
SO WHICH ONE IS THE BEST
Honestly, it all depends on you and your needs. We have had great success using WordPress to build real estate sites. With the amount of third party plugins available on WordPress makes it easy to get the options and integrations you need to put together a wonderful site that your visitors will enjoy.
Just because we prefer WordPress, does not mean that the other site builders wont work just as well. Some site builders may also have some real estate templates that are available where you can just plug in your info and launch your site.
You have the options. Just do the research and get the right site builder that will work for you.
